COVID-19 STATISTICS IN HANCOCK PLACE SCHOOL DISTRICT
The Hancock Place School District administrative team monitors St. Louis County data, including the number of new COVID-19 cases per 100,000 individuals, transmission rate, and positivity rate, on a daily basis. In addition, we are consulting frequently with medical professionals and St. Louis County Department of Public Health leadership. We will continue to monitor local data and adjust our phases as often as necessary as we seek to make decisions in the best interest of our students, staff and community.
The dashboard below is designed to share a daily snapshot of COVID-19 statistics in our district. For reference, Hancock has more than 170 employees and 1,350 students. Data will be updated each day.
CONFIRMED CASES
If a student or staff member in a school building tests positive for COVID-19, Hancock Place School District administration will work directly with the St. Louis County Department of Public Health to begin the contact tracing process and communicate directly with anyone who had direct contact with the individual who tested positive.
SNAPSHOT OF CURRENT ACTIVE COUNTS
A positive test indicates that the student or staff member has been tested and received a report confirming that they have the COVID-19 virus. These individuals will be isolated for a minimum of 10 days and upon meeting the criteria set by the St. Louis County Health Department and district policy, can return to campus. Data for quarantine identifies individuals who have not tested positive, but have been identified through contact tracing, self-reported interaction with a positive case, or individuals flagged through our Health Screening Survey. Individuals who have been exposed are instructed to quarantine for 10 days to monitor for symptoms.
Current Positive: A staff member or student currently isolated due to a lab-confirmed positive COVID-19 test
Recovered Staff members/Students: A staff member or student who has recovered from COVID-19 and has returned to school.
Currently in Quarantine: A staff member or student who is currently in a 10-day self-quarantine due to having close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19.
Released from Quarantine: A student or staff member who has returned to school from a 10-day self-quarantine due to having close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19.
Close Contact is defined as being within six feet of an individual who tested positive for COVID-19 for more than 15 minutes in a 24 hour period.
Once a positive case is reported, contact tracing takes place for the two days prior to the onset of symptoms or two days prior to the positive test result, if symptoms were not present.
